Visiting the Ones We Care Most About

Family, that is what the titleis referring to. With Jack's (Steph's father) health taking its turn on a roller coaster, we finally were got the go ahead to go home and visit family. It was a uhh.. "short and exciting" 17.5 hour drive up to Wisconsin where we had the opportunity of getting a long short and nap (1 hour nap / quick shower) and then immediately went to the hospital to do what we came to do, spend time with family. Now don't take my little remarks as if I am complaining, well... i guess it is complaining but I would gladly do it again and again if need be.

This trip had originally started out as our last one did, visit her family, visit my family, have no time for us. Good times! heh.. Now, it has turned into staying with her family as much as possible and then going straight home to prepare for my SSgt promotion testing. I feel so old, i'm taking the "responsible" route, vice the enjoyable one and that scares me! After an added 2.5 weeks, we got Stephany's re-painted car back, i know it's off topic, but that's how my mind works :) Toyota... toyota... toyota.... sigh. So as if the 2.5 weeks werent bad enough. We had the car for 1 day then left for Wisconsin. Soon there after we found many issues, not with the paining however, the paint job was awesome. They left the trunk dirty, they did not properly place the passenger side window. They left "work" markings all over the seats and doors, and to top it all off, the rubber sidings all around the car and the foam protector in the doors are horrendously replaced and are literally falling off. Needless to say I'm not pleased at all.

Getting back on to the point I was originally getting at, Jack was finally able to come home and stay with loved ones without the hourly visit from doctors or friends. He was finally able to get "sleep" (Best he could, with the 3 times a day checkups from Diane (Steph's mom).) Although he does look better, my heart still hurts and yells in agony because I know there is nothing that i can do. I pray nearly daily (which in itsself is a feat) that i may endure his pains for him, or take troubles in my life so that he may have one moment with family free of pain. I know it isn't how it works, but it should. I'm ready and willing. On a happier note, he's got friends, family and the church backing him. Tons of prayers and love are daily being sent to him. The most heartfelt moment I think we have had up to this point was when a prayer was spoken in the hospital, giving thanks for everything, instead of asking for the sickness to be healed or pain removed. Well, steph is prolly wondering where I ran off to (in a Hotel at the moment).

Carl, is that you? You sound like an old married man, welcome to married life. Hope everything is well and hope someday you can come visit again. Maybe when we live closer to an airport which will hopefully be soon. Make sure to call your brother because he does miss to hear from you. Love ya.
